Egypt is the country with the oldest culture in the world perhaps. The pyramids, one of the seven wonders of antiquity, and even today they keep their secrets hidden. The river Nile to the banks of the pharaohs built glorious churches and funeral homes to kings and queens who eftychisan live there. The trip to Egypt, is diving to the culture of humanity. Egypt of history, legend and the past meets the modern face of the country in the bazaars and markets that attract visitors not only for the variety of species but on the skill and finesse of their traffickers. The trip to Egypt is revealing, especially when accompanied by the ethnological kaleidoscope of the people of the Libyan desert.

 

Comments

1) The trip includes several hours of trails in the desert to visit the oasis in unpaved road. Also hotels in oases is the best available, but no major amenities.

2) Cruise ships on the Nile (even those 5 * we use) are generally small - narrow vessels, with simple comforts and maintenance and cleanliness analogous country! They have no relationship with the luxurious offshore cruisers with huge spaces and multiple entertainment possibilities.

 

Schedule & Map

 

Day 1: Athens - Cairo

Departure Cairo. Arrival and transfer to hotel. Dinner in a traditional restaurant with belly dancing and overnight.

 

Day 2: Cairo - Alexandria

Leave Cairo and depart by road to Alexandria, the city founded by M. Alexander.

 

Day 3: Alexandria

Full day dedicated to the tour of Alexandria. We will see the Ellinorthodoxo Patriarchate, the historic monastery of St. Sava, the House / Museum of Greek poet Constantine Cavafy, the Ellinoromaiko museum buildings of the Greek Community, the royal gardens of Editing, the palace of King Farouk and of course the New Library of Alexandria .

 

Day 4: Alexandria - Oasis of Siwa

Day shocking worth any fatigue of the long journey to the heart of the Libyan desert. En route we will have stops in the area of El Alamein and Marsa Mantrouch.

 

Day 5: Siwa Oasis

The Siwa oasis that came to the fore with the recent Greek excavations in the region inhabited by groups of Berber origin populations. Day 6: Siwa Oasis - Bahariya Oasis

Day 9: Cairo

Day 10: Cairo (Abu Sipel) - Aswan (Cruise)

The evening will begin to call at the river bound for Kom Ombo.

 

Day 11: Cruise

Morning tour to the temple of the god Horus and the temple of Kom Ombo. Then departure to Edfu, where we visit the homonymous church. Finally the boat will cover the last bit of water our route up unique Luxor.

 

Day 12: Cruise

This morning we will enjoy our tour of the West bank of the Nile where the Valley of the Kings. Unique funerary monuments, elaborately trimmed for life eternal and worthy of the grandeur of the pharaohs! The afternoon tour of the Eastern Ochthi at Temple of Luxor and Karnak Temple. Day 13: (cruise) Aswan - Cairo - Sinai

Transferring from the riverboat and early flight back to Cairo.
