Epirus, the northwestern tip of Greece, is characterized by mountain ranges, picturesque lakes and quiet bays. Most of the land is mountainous, with wild towering mountains. The route of Epirus, geographically belongs to the prefecture of Ioannina and includes the vineyards of Zitsa and Metsovo.
The Tempi Valley is the natural southern boundary of the Wine Routes of Northern Greece. Here, in the crystal waters of the springs, the Muses Apollo extracted after the death of the Dragon Python, mythology is told. From here begins the first route of the Wine Roads of Northern Greece, the Route of the Gods of Olympus, with the winery of E. TSANTALI SA in Rapsani, and the Katsaros Estate in Krania.
The Wine Route of Naoussa is the most famous wine producing region in Northern Greece. Here is the most exquisite red variety of the north-Helladic area, the xinomavro, while in the area there is a significant number of visiting wineries.
The Lakes Path is geographically identified with the wine-growing regions of Western Macedonia. The wineries that are on the Route and participate in the Wine Roads of Northern Greece are the Alfa Estate in Vegoras Amyndeou and the Voyiatzis Estate in Velvento, Kozani. The "Two Friends" winery is located in Siatista, Kozani, while the Stergiou Estate participates in the Prefecture of Kastoria.
