The fame of the monuments, the sights and the regions with a special beauty have gone beyond the frontiers of the prefecture and are known to the whole Greece.
Amphipolis is one of the most important sights of the prefecture. In the ancient (archeological) part of Amphipolis, there is the “Lion of Amphipolis”, the symbol of the prefecture as well as the guard of the ancient city. What makes one’s visit pleasant, is the perfect combination of the Archeological Area, the Museum and the Cave of Alistrati.
The Tower of Orestis on the hill of Koula, has an imposing presence on the top of the city of Serres, and confesses the city’s long time presence in the passage through the years.
