When people talk about holidays in Florida they are often talking about holidays in Orlando which happens to be America’s top holiday destination. The city of Orlando is just 14 miles from Orlando International airport, in the centre of the state of Florida, with Daytona Beach on the Space Coast to the east and Tampa on the Gulf Coast to the west.

You will also find excellent golf courses (about 150 in fact!) along with spectator sports, artificial beaches and masses of watersports on the region’s lakes.
Weather in Orlando
Although Orlando is land locked, its weather is influenced slightly by the Atlantic, as with the whole of Florida State, which gives it a fine year round climate and abundant sunshine that is very rarely oppressive. Rainfall is relatively low throughout the year and occurs on very few occasions, although some of these can often result in heavy downpours. Spring and early summer is settled, dry and fine with long spells of bright sunshine, while late summer and autumn weather can be changeable, with alternating dry and wet days that increase the likelihood of higher humidity. Winters are extremely sunny, benefiting from lovely warm temperatures that make Orlando such a popular destination during low season.
